Things to do
The Old Vine House
Located right in the center of Maribor, the Old Vine House is home of the world’s oldest vine. With more than 400 years of age, the vine secured its place in the Guinness World Records as the worlds oldest vine still bearing grapes. The vine only bears between 35 and 55 kg of grapes nowadays, so its wine is highly valuable and is only offered as prestigious gift.
The Pyramid Hill
In the 12th century, Maribor Castle was built on this hill with an altitude of 382 meters overlooking the city. Though the Castle was ruined in 1790, the original floorplan can still be seen. A pleasant half an hour stroll through the hillside vineyards will lead you on top of the hill. Enjoying the view from the Pyramid Hill is one of the top things to do in Maribor today. Don’t forget to bring your binocular!

Lent is the oldest and most well recognized part of the city of Maribor which was once a busy trading port. Today it is a local hotspot, perfect for a stroll alongside the Drava river, a starting point for a cycling tour or local wine tastings from the region.
